The A/NT show is an Emerald City Art Club event. Emerald City Art Club is an organization dedicated to art education and the joy of making art.
Dear ECAC Artists,
Kathy Kimball and I did a recon mission of the new special exhibition space at A/NT Gallery, at Seattle Center. It looks really good. Please check out the video of the space below.
$60 Entrance Fee
A few months ago, those of you who responded said you would be willing to pay $60 to be in the Emerald City Art Club exhibition at A/NT Gallery, at the Seattle Center. If you are still committed to exhibiting your artwork then your payment of $60 should be made out to ‘Kathy Kimball’ and sent to her. Her address was recently sent to you in an email. Kathy Kimball is paying the rent on our behalf, so we need to reimburse her. Your payment is due to her by April 20.
Unless the show is cancelled, your submission fee is non-refundable.
Extra Funds
It is unlikely, but if we happen to collect more funds than needed, we will reimburse you. Or, with your permission, use the remaining funds for some other purpose, like printing a poster for the show, etc.
Gallery Space Video
Check out this video of gallery space. Notice that the art is hung on vertical bars. And therefore require wire on the back of the artwork to hang.

Critical Dates:
Between now and April 20: Payment Due to Kathy Kimball
Monday June 17: All wall label info and art image(s) due to Patrick. This means you are finished with your artwork for the show.
Sunday June 30, 9 am to 11 am: Load in art
Saturday, July 6, 6 to 8 pm: Opening Reception
Sunday, July 28, 9 am to 11 am: Art take down
A/NT Gallery Regular Hours: 12 pm to 8 pm daily. Closed on Mondays.
Only Original Works
To be in the show your artwork cannot be a copy of someone else's painting or photograph, unless you have their permission. Some artists borrow elements from other people's paintings and photos in order to form their own original compositions. That's legal and ok. If you are looking for an additional professional challenge, consider creating your own source material.
Only Your Best
It is better to submit fewer of your best paintings than several mediocre ones. Never think of an art show as a way to unload inferior works. Everyone will notice. ECAC art shows are a way for you to shine!

Wall label info and art image(s) due: Monday June 17
Pre-hanging: We are going to pre-hang the show. This means that you will send me an image(s) of your artwork to hang in the show. Your artwork does not have to be finished by June 17, but I need an image even if the work(s) are unfinished. Then I will layout the show on my computers and bring a printout to the hanging. Then when you arrive with your finished art, there will be a specific spot on the wall waiting for you to hang your artwork(s).
Wall Labels: Please send your wall label information to [email protected] in the exact format below. Please proofread your typing before sending. I am not available for proofreading services.
"Apples"
By Patrick Howe
24" x 24"
Oil on canvas
Price: $300
If your art is not for sale, then for price put: Not For Sale
If it is not in this format, then someone else will have to redo it. The dimensions must include the frame size. Please submit your descriptions only as an email.
If a work of yours is sold, the customer will take it with them. You can fill that empty space on the wall with a different piece of a similar size.
A/NT Gallery takes a 15% commission on sales.
If one of your works sell, it will be handed to the buyer at the time of the sale. The gallery will then request of you a similar sized work to fill the empty space on the wall.
Payment to the artist
The gallery will pay Kathy Kimball, the signor of our contract with A/NT, for any sales within 30 day of when the show comes down. Then she will distribute the payments to the artists who have sold works.

How Many Paintings?
Your label info, and images of works that you would like to show, should be sent to Patrick at [email protected] by Monday June 17th. I will then pre-hang the show. That is, layout the show on my computer to see what all will fit. There is no size restriction. There is no jury process other than practical space limitations. Each artist is guaranteed to have at least one painting in the show. I have heard that some artists will be submitting around three paintings with the understanding that some of the paintings may not get in because of space limitations. But I won’t know for sure until it’s all puzzled together.

Art Must Be Ready To Hang
Which means it must be constructed so that it is secure and safe when handling and transporting. It must have hanging wire on the back. A/NT Gallery does not allow nails holes in their walls. Instead, they use a rail system that requires hanging wire. See video showing how to attach wire. If your work is not framed then the edges must painted to look clean and professional. Artwork must be completely dry, so allow plenty of time for drying, oiling out or varnishing. No sticky art allowed.

Artwork Handling
You are required to handle your own artwork. However if the organizing staff of this event find that they must handle your artwork, they will do so as carefully as possible but you will not hold them liable if it gets damaged. You can do a search for, and obtain insurance for your artwork if you wish.

Load in art: Sunday, June 30, 9am to 11am.
This is when you must deliver your artwork to the art gallery. If you are unable to deliver your art yourself then have a friend deliver it for you (not Kathy or me).
Please deliver your artwork to me at the corner of Republican Street and Warren Avenue N.
You must deliver your artwork between 9 am and 11 am. It is best to deliver as early as possible.
Do not bring works that you did not submit for the show.
When you arrive at Republican Street and Warren Avenue N I will hand your artwork off to another team member who will carry it by hand, or with a hand truck, to the gallery, which is about 30 yards away.
You will not have to park your car or hang your own artwork. Just hand off your artwork to me and drive away. Other team members will be in the gallery hanging the show.
If you do happen to find a nearby parking space, you are welcome to park and come in and help us hang the show.

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 6, 6 to 8 pm.
Attendance at the Opening Reception is mandatory. Here is why.
If something comes up and you are unable to attend the reception, please let me know that you must withdraw from the show.
You don't have to stay the whole time, but it would be wonderful to share your beautiful face for at least an hour.
Please bring a beverage and simple appetizer to share. Appetizers should not require refrigeration or heating. You know—nuts, cheese, chips and dips, that kind of stuff. If you bring bowls or utensils that you wish to keep then take them with you when you leave. We will provide paper plates and napkins.
Bring friends and significants!
Opening Reception Activities
A/NT Gallery as a whole will be having their art opening at the same time as ours so there will be lots of people. Our show will be in their special events gallery.
• There will be live music.
• We may do voting for artwork, if we can get our voting system better organized.
• There will be an easel set up for anyone to step up and do a 10 minute drawing of anything. The drawings will be taped to the wall near the easel.

Record The Event
It is always good to record important artistic event like this. So please consider taking lots of photos and/or videos at the reception. Take photos of people looking your art, and the crowd in general, etc. Your photos could also be posted later on the ECAC website.
Also, consider keeping an image of the flyer or poster of the show for your records. If possible, grab this one here and drag it to your computer:
