I am inspired by light, color, and beauty. My works all begin with photos of little natural treasures I encounter on my walks around the neighborhood or travels— beams of light spilling through canopy onto a dusky trail, the solitude of a lone boat harbor at dawn on a chilly morning. I then use my canvases to expand on these scenes, layering oil and memory onto moment. ​
